Summary In the spring of 1944, the 104th Medical Battalion of the United States Army is disbanded, and its men reassigned to various infantry companies in preparation for their invasion of occupied France. For First Lieutenant Novak, this is less than helpful, as he has so far met his platoon's designated medic a grand total of twice, and has both times found Sergeant Winchester to be the optimum combination of reckless, arrogant, and downright insufferable so as to make cohesive platoon function near impossible. When the time comes to move out, however, Castiel has to reconcile himself to the fact that men are going to go down and trust that Dean Winchester may well be the only person who can put them back together again. WW2 ETO infantry AU. Notes Baker Company is completely fictitious, as is its involvement in World War Two, but all other featured military units and their involvements are real. All places, events and major battles are real, but minor conflicts and the way in which battles play out are a result of my imagination. The fictional contributions of Baker Company to the ETO are not designed to undermine the hard work and sacrifice of the real soldiers of the 29th Infantry Division, nor any of the Armed Forces who fought in Europe. To the best of my knowledge, this fic is historically accurate, but if anyone reading this comes across anything that they know to be wrong, then please let me know so that I can adjust it. The Chapters are super long as this was not originally written in Wattpad so each is broken up into 2-3 parts to make it a little easier. Dean Winchester got picked to fight in World War II. When the President chose him, he had to leave his boyfriend behind in Colorado. When his boyfriend, Castiel, got the call that Dean was coming home early. He knew something was wrong, but little did he know that Dean was dreading seeing him because he didn't know what Cas would think.

sometimes finding yourself is hard. sometimes finding your father is harder. (this was my nanowrimo project for this year. trigger warnings before each chapter, updated weekly. this is a vent fic! a lot of this is taken from my own trauma.)

Dean wasn't exactly sure how he'd ended up here. Three hours earlier, his evening had been perfectly ordinary. No bars, no walls, no furious angels, certainly no horny douchebags. Okay, maybe one horny douchebag. But that had been Dean himself, so that was fine. Yeah, so, it had been one of those evenings. When it was just too much, that feeling inside him, that nagging, longing, craving of something (someone) he didn't dare put a name to. It had been there for a very long time now, only getting stronger over the years the more Dean tried to push it down. And try to push it down, he did. Dean needed distraction. And he knew just where to find it. ~oOo~oOo~oOo~ Or our typical Dean drags Cas to a bar for distraction, gets jealous and things happen.

So like that says this is a continuation. It's continued from @JaredRossCollins 's account... Dean grew up as a girl, but it all felt so wrong. The hair wasn't his thing, nor was the fleshy mounds all the boys seemed to be obsessed with. He hated having them so much. Between his legs felt so empty, too. Mary told him he was a perfect little girl when he wore the pink dresses and little bows, but he felt awkward with what Mary put him in. John, who wanted a son, was happy to let Dean wear boy's clothes and throw the baseball around. Sure, Sammy came four years later, and he loved Sammy, but Dean was older and easier to play boy games with until Sam got old enough. Mary was lost to them, much too soon, and the three left that home. Too many memories. Now, Dean is a senior in high school and that always means trouble.
