The golden boy of Milton Academy, Mateo Sanchez, commits suicide and creates a wave of sorrow and grief across the campus of Milton, and leaves an empty spot for a new student.
Brooklyn Miller gets a full ride to Milton Academy, without knowing the unsettling reason why, and is quick to accept the offer. She moves away from everyone she loves and everything familiar when she gets to Milton but quickly begins to blend in with her new friends. Without realizing it, Brooklyn slowly becomes Mateo. She quickly becomes the new prodigy of Milton, she moves into his old dorm, takes over his new friend group, she even dates Mateo's girlfriend. As she starts uncovering the secrets of Milton she begins wondering if Mateo really committed suicide or was foul play involved. Will Brooklyn stay in Mateo's shadow and meet the same fate, or will she uncover what he wasn't able to?

The Salvatore brothers, Matteo and Angelo are struggling to keep the effects of their home life from mixing with their school life. Matteo has a temper, and Angel has a strong sense of protector. Neither are above hurting the Ice Princess. Cassia Russo the meanest girl on campus, is by far the biggest hater of Nova. But does she have a reason? Lia Amherst the campus sweetheart, she'd never hurt a fly, yet her hands aren't clean of Nova's pain either.. When their paths collide, Enzo and the gang find themselves thrown into the mystery of the Ice Princess, the girl everyone hates.
