A mermaid named Akahiko Momomiko is in her 2nd year of High School at Ishikawa High.
 When Akahiko was younger, she was bullied and made fun of for being a mermaid. 
Ever since then she's been insecure about being a mermaid and hides it from everyone, by being an outcast and non-social towards everyone. 
 She's known as the "school loner". 
It was like that ever since she started High School.
One day her whole life changes from the usual when a boy named Light Usakawa finds she's a mermaid in the most peculiar way. 
From there on a friendship blossoms and finding out about accepting the past, overcoming it, and the effects it took. 
Learning how to let people in and have friends and what boundaries are.
  Learning how to process your feelings after keeping them locked away for no one to see. 
Being yourself, and not letting the past control what you do in the present.
