(1969) As he struggled to hold the Monkees together after Peter's resignation, it seemed as though Davy Jones' relationship with his girlfriend was the light at the end of the tunnel... that is, until, one day, she decided to leave him for another man. 
    
    With a week to spare before the release of 'Instant Replay' and their schedules empty as could be, Micky and a melancholy Davy accompanied Mike on his return to Texas to pay his mother a visit. There, Davy saw that their neighbor had horses and ventured over to look at them, meeting their owner in the process: responsible, outgoing, and warmhearted Annalise Barnes, a childhood friend of Mike's.
