You wanted to know about who you were before. What was your connection with the moon? Who was the beautiful girl? Why did you die? It just didn't make sense to you.

But that had to be put aside. You had a duty to Yato. He saved you from the terror of being a Phantom. He gave you a home, although it wasn't his to give. It was a gift that was given to a few people. Luckily, you were pure enough to be saved. Otherwise...who knows what you might've become.

As for this friend...he was cute. As in massively cute. But Yato knew everything that went down. And he would have none of that. He believed it might get in the way of your ability to fight. Which wasn't possible.
