The Divine Dragonfruit. A fruit claimed to possess an incomparable taste, but not one felt without cost: Every single bite of the fruit consumes part of one's own life, everyone who's ever tasted it dying younger than they should've.
Ren Yuuki, a young man so depressed he wished to end his own life, sought out the Divine Dragonfruit, hoping it would grant him a quick and painless death. However, upon consuming the fruit in its entirety, he mysteriously survived.
Or, well... maybe "survived" is a bit of a strong word...
