Severe oppression and abuse by government agencies leads Anna to build a golem to get her justice! She experiences numerous problems along the way that take Anna on an adventure into the spirit world. She also has to deal with the spirit world from the physical world. She visits heaven during her meditation practices and is given 'holy stones' by the angel, Gabriel. She is unsure of what to do with them. Samael tries to trick her into giving them to him along the way. Back in the physical realm, she is invaded by dybbuks and has to trap them in a dybbuk box. Now she has dybbuks to figure out what to do with, and the 'holy stones' which have some sort of power, though Anna cannot seem to figure out, what that power is. Finally, she builds a golem for justice in the physical realm. A delightful tale of a tzaddik and her desire to see her lacha dodi face to face, amidst all of the trials and chaos. The book is deeply kabbalistic in nature, with notes of arcane ideas intertwined. Her wit and creativity seems right on time. G-d inspired perhaps. Fiction- maybe true, or true in part and then again- maybe not!

Iris Blackwell has always known pain. Born into a broken home with a drug-addicted mother and an abusive father, her life has been nothing but a series of cruel twists and betrayals. When she finally escapes the hell of her childhood, she's left to fend for herself on the cold streets, cursed with a strange and supernatural string of bad luck that follows her like a shadow. Every time she tries to rebuild, the world knocks her down harder. Kael Mercer was once human. Once a soldier, a son, a man with a heart. But that man died. In a final, desperate act, he made a deal with something ancient, something monstrous-and was reborn as its vessel. Now he walks the line between man and monster, his body home to a demon that whispers promises of power, vengeance, and eternal survival. Feared as one of the most ruthless drug lords in America, Kael has everything-wealth, power, and blood on his hands. But there's one thing he never expected to find again: a soul that mirrors his own. When Kael meets Iris, it's supposed to be simple. She's a pawn. A girl with nothing to lose and a curse that might be useful to him. And against every instinct, Kael finds himself drawn to her strength, her fury, and the way her darkness sings to his. Kael and Iris find themselves caught in a war between fate and free will. The demon inside Kael is growing stronger, hungrier, and it wants Iris-whether to destroy her or possess her, no one can say. And Iris's curse may be more than just bad luck... it might be the key to everything. Together, they're toxic. Dangerous. Bound by blood, trauma, and something neither of them can name. But in a world that only ever gave them pain, maybe love is the deadliest curse of all.
