Xalani is seen as the perfect girl with the perfect life. She gets straight A's, Is an excellent volleyball player and is rather popular. She has amber brown skin and butterfly dreadlocks that flow down her back that she has been growing all 16 years of her life. The last year has been a nightmare for her and then she finds out her best friend is leaving on a trip leaving her to be alone. She signs up for a summer camp where she is bunked with Carmen. Carmen is the exact opposite of Xalani; she is rebellious and a wild card. She gets Xalani out of her comfort zone and turns into Xalani's summer camp best friend.
