But then his past crawls back to him as he deals with an old best friend who wants to prove him otherwise and prove she's a worthy opponent to the hero.

Its currently 40XX and there are abilities at play. The superheroes and villains told in stories long ago are now a reality. There is still one role that no one has talked about in stories; a role that both heroes and villains similarly dislike and that is a vigilante.
