After receiving a mysterious map in the mail, Mario sets off to the sketchy town of Rogueport for the adventure of a lifetime. Joined by many colorful, loyal allies, he must fight to save Princess Peach from the clutches of a dastardly organization called the Secret Society of X-Nauts!

That's not what this story is about. Instead, this is the tale of how the X-Naut leadership got to that point.

This explores the origins and motivations of Lord Crump and Sir Grodus. It starts out significantly before TTYD and will eventually lead up to the TTYD prologue. There's lots of X-Nauts. Each and every one of them is stupid in their own unique way.

Our heroes aren't, of course, as they try and stop Count Bleck's plans, but not even Bleck's minions who work against them are safe from their own thoughts during these dark times. This is a collection of these thoughts; their worries, scheming, and challenges, all presented from their own point of view in their own stories. I (obviously) do not own any characters in this story, and do not claim to. This story does not intend to present itself as canon, and although it aligns with the main story of Super Paper Mario, some smaller details might have been changed for the sake of story telling. The monster eldest sibling demands that it must be wed before the younger sister, as is its right as the older of the twins. In a world filled with superhumans, the powerless charlie cycle struggles to keep his life together. It only gets worse when on his way home hes pulled into a choke hold and shot. But instead of dying, his life was saved by the sentient living slime who holds a few.... secrets. When charlie finds out about said gooper, The slime gives the excuse that, they cant leave Charlie's body yet, since, he still isnt fully healed from the bullet wound. Being to tired to argue, he puts up with the slime for the next few months. In which time, the slime was able to convince him to go out for one night as a vigilante, just to try it :) unfortunately, that one night led to a run in with the most dangerous villains in the city, the syndicate. Causing him to get roped into the syndicates plan to take over the government. Although things only get worse when he finds out the syndicates number one target, is his childhood best friend jschlatt, who charlie lost contact with once he got into the presidency.
