Most Wists deny that history is, in fact, written by the winners. For years, perhaps centuries, the Wists have always been Miranomiya's winners. Always. They are the ones with the big palace, the golden-clad army, the shining pavilions and the polished schools. The Aisi and the Nenans living under them are the ones who lose, the ones who are misfortunate enough to be written as footnotes in every school textbook. In fact, the Aisi have been completely written out of the books, ever since the Wists exterminated them a mere four years ago. That doesn't mean that history ended for them. A new school year is already starting in Miranomiya, even amidst a sudden uptick in violent attacks among the Wists' higher classes. Many nobles fear sending their children to Sunrise Academy- many voice fears that an angry Nenan may somehow wander up from lower down in the city, or that an Aisi will suddenly rise from the dead and attack the school's fortified walls. Zari, the crown princess of the Wists, has no such fear. She claims she would walk towards an Aisi with open arms. There are questions as to how this claim hasn't yet killed her. She does, however, have to challenge her idealistic beliefs, as soon as she sees the first body drop during the school year.

Mirai comes from a long line of witches who have been particularly gifted in using their inner sight. As such, she's trained her sight from a young age. She's always been a disappointment, however, as the only thing she's ever been able to see is the vague image of a girl. On her 18th birthday, Mirai discovers a mark on the back of her neck displaying the number thirty. From her first proper vision, she deduces that unless she finds the girl before the number reaches zero, both of them will die. Only being able to depend on her less than mediocre skills in seeing the future, Mirai sets out to find the girl before the time is up. Little does she know of the trauma the girl has suffered, nor that finding her is only the beginning. ---------- Mature rating due to: smut, violence, suicide (happens in the prologue while POV-character has her back turned), rape (happens in chapter 30 and will be mentions of it afterwards, fade to black, there will NOT be a trigger warning at the beginning of the specific chapter), violent death of babies, some rather bloody scenes, self-harm, extreme guilt. Note that a major part of this story focus on healing from and learning to live with trauma, so though you could potentially read it but skip some specific parts, if you're not comfortable reading something that deals with the listed topics, then this book won't be for you. ---------- This series will contain the following volumes: Volume 1 - Zoe, the witch of innocence (completed) Volume 2 - Crimson, the witch of night (completed) Volume 3 - Morana, the witch of life (completed) Volume 4 - Mirai, the witch of sight (completed) Volume 5 - Danae, the witch of light (completed) Volume 6 - Rheseis, the faerie of love (ongoing)
