Mateo Higgins is the son of A-list actor Evelyn Higgins, so he lives a privileged life in Los Angeles with more money at his disposal than any seventeen-year-old knows what to do with. Yet, the saying money can't buy happiness is all too true for Mateo. Left to his own devices because of his mother's work demands, Mateo starts dabbling with narcotics, psychedelics, depressants and everything in between. After a particularly intense episode, Evelyn is convinced her son has a deeper problem than a spoiled teenager's love for partying and signs him up for a new innovative camp for addicted teens that promises results. However, as far as Mateo is concerned, the only therapy he needs can be found in a good pill.
