"That's right... I forgot, I'm alone again. It has always been like this. I had my hopes up, but no matter how many times I tried, nothing changed. What is the point of using my voice?"

I am Asha.

Born with congenital poliosis, my pure white hair set me apart from the very beginning. What started as a marvel quickly turned into a curse. My family, once filled with love and warmth, grew cold and distant. My father abandoned our family, and my mother's indifference left me yearning for the affection I never received.

As I grew older, the isolation deepened. No matter how hard I tried to connect, no one seemed to understand me. My attempts to reach out were met with misunderstanding and rejection, compounding the trauma from my past. These experiences etched scars deep into my soul, making each day a struggle.

Eventually, something within me broke. It wasn't a conscious choice to stop speaking; it was as if my body and soul conspired to silence me. Words, once my desperate attempt to be heard, now failed to escape my lips. In the silence, I found a strange kind of peace, a retreat from the world that never accepted me.

While tortured and held captive as a prisoner of war, she became my reason to keep breathing. The force that fueled my will to fight. To survive. When I woke after the rescue to discover the life I thought I was coming home to was but a figment of my imagination, hallucinations brought about by pain, desperation, and isolation... it nearly broke me. Fifteen years since I first lost her, at last, we have a second chance. Holding her in my arms, finally feeling the warmth of her skin as she melts under my touch, is like a dream. She and her two little girls are now as essential to my existence as the air I breathe. However, just as things start falling into place, the universe steps in, threatening to take it all away. I used to think that choosing her cost me everything I'd ever loved, but now I see that in choosing her and her children, I have the chance to reclaim all that I lost. They are my salvation. My true path to redemption. Which is why I'll leave no stone unturned, why I will scorch this world to the ground if that's what it takes to save them. And when I do, I will fight to convince her once and for all they are meant to be mine, just as I was destined to be theirs. In the Broken Redemption Series, one man's vow to protect the woman he lost becomes a battle between redemption, forgiveness, and the kind of love that refuses to let go. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is Book 3 of Lucas & Emilia's Broken Redemption arc, the emotional conclusion to their story. For the full journey, start with Book 1: Broken Vows.

Sometimes, I feel like I was designed not to live - but just to survive. My brain doesn't crave joy, meaning, or legacy - it just tries to prevent crisis. It calculates food, money, safety. It panics. It runs. It hides. And somehow... it keeps missing life. I've spent years trying to understand why my mind behaves this way. Why it imagines catastrophes while standing still. Why it avoids the simplest task. Why it overthinks even brushing teeth, but can ride a cycle for 100 km in the rain without blinking. One day, when I was still, completely still... with no task to distract me... this strange feeling overtook me. The thought that maybe - just maybe - I am not supposed to design my own purpose. I looked up. And I said, silently: "God... if You made me this way... if You crafted this restless, impulsive, chaos-driven machine of a brain... then You must know where I fit. Use me. Don't let me rot in guilt and survival. Don't let me just float. You know this universe in ways I never can. You know every corner of it. So You must know the one place where this exact wiring of mine can become meaningful." This wasn't surrender from pain. It was surrender from trying to control something I've clearly never understood. I don't need peace. I don't need success. I need to be used. Fully. For something only this kind of life, this kind of mind, could contribute. If I am a tool, let me build something. If I am a flame, let me burn where light is needed. But don't keep me in the dark asking, "Why me?" Maybe I wasn't built to ask. I was built to be assigned.
