Rose King is returning home after a ten year absence.

Nothing in Hardwicke has changed much in those ten years, Ms. Pinkerton still has the same old dog that barks at any and everything that passes by her home, Mrs. Phillips garden still has the drooping sunflowers...and the Walkers still live across the street.

Of all the people Rose hoped wouldn't show up to this reunion it was Samuel Walker, otherwise known as Icarus to many of their graduated class.

Keeping ten year old memories buried while living in San Francisco was easy but being home and being confronted at every corner by people in those memories, it's harder to keep the feelings and emotions away.

The walls that Rose had built up over the ten years slowly begin to crumble as she lives through those memories, some are good but others are painful and Rose would rather not remember.

But what happens when the one person that caused many of those painful memories wants to apologize and replace them with something better...something happier? Can Rose bring herself to forgive and move on? Can she remember what it felt like to love someone so unconditionally that their hearts shared the same walls?

She isn't sure she wants to find out and face the possibility of a broken heart by the same person a second time.

My Best Friend's Brother βœ“ by Aria_King
29 parts Complete
"You should really tell him soon," Austin said as he walked closer to me. "It's complicated," I sighed, avoiding eye contact with the greek god standing before me. "Try me," Austin took another step towards me and once again I moved away from him. My back hit the wall, preventing me from moving any further. "It's just that I didn't want to upset him if it turned out that this wasn't going anywhere," "So now what?" He asked. "Violet I like you a lot, this isn't just some fling," he took a final step toward me and placed both hands on the wall besides my head so I was trapped. I gulped at his words. "Do you really mean it? Because if I'm going to tell him and risk our friendship I need to know that I'm not going to catch you making out with some cheerleader next week," Austin leaned his head forward and nuzzled into my neck. "I want to try and make this work," he said huskily before trailing kisses up my neck and along my jaw. "Okay, I'll tell him," *** Like most of the female population at her school, Violet is completely and utterly head over heels in love with the sex god that is Austin Hendrix. Unlike most of the female population at her school, Violet just so happens to be best friends with Austin's brother, essentially meaning that Austin is off limits, not that that matters since Austin wouldn't even breathe in Violet's direction right? Wrong. After having Violet literally fall for him at a concert, Austin can't seem to get the girl with the sarcastic tongue and muddy converse out of his mind. Throw in Violet's over controlling dad, a phyco ex booty call and the fact that Austin has a knack for charming girls out of their dresses and things may get a little ... complicated. ** As much as I wish I took the picture of the sex god on my cover picture I didn't so credit to whoever that lucky person is**

"Do you know how hard it is for me knowing that you're with someone else?" Tyler asked, staring at me intensely. "You think this is easy for me?" I asked, trying to hold back my tears. "I didn't say it was -" he began, but I cut him off. "It's not. I have to go around hating myself. Hating myself for thinking about you. Hating myself for wanting you. I just want to stop feeling this way." I stepped closer to him as my voice shook with every word. "I want to forget about you, but I just--." The rest of my sentence was cut short as Tyler took the final step, closing the gap between us and brought his lips to mine. ~~~~~~~~ Tyler is back from college to find out that the girl who once held his heart has a new boyfriend.
