In 2061, the long-awaited passage of Halley's Comet brings an unexpected meteor shower that changes the fate of many. James, a young New Zealander, tragically loses someone close to him in this event. Years later, he discovers that he has been blessed - or cursed - with extraordinary abilities.
When he is taken to a secret refuge in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, James finds himself in a place where people from all over the world, each with unique abilities, gather. In this enigmatic and secret-filled environment, he meets Mateo, a boy whose intense personality and surprising abilities attract him in unexpected ways.
As he tries to understand the extent of his own powers and the turmoil of his emotions, James discovers that someone within the refuge has been corrupted by their own powers, and now anyone in that place could be a suspect.
