Meet Annelise!
At the age of 17, she and her then boyfriend of two years had made the mistake of getting pregnant on the night of their two year anniversary. Not ready to be a father at the ripe age of 18, he leaves her to fend for herself. With no money to afford Plan-B, and no support from her family other than her grandma, she has to navigate the first two years of college with her now two year old daughter.
On a stressful and busy afternoon, she and her daughter are out at a restaurant. While she tries to study, her daughter is using her phone. In a rush to head home, she picks up the screaming two year old and accidentally leaves her phone there.
Not realizing until she gets to her grandma's house, she uses her grandma's phone and tries to call it in hopes she just misplaced it somewhere in her car or in her bag. What she doesn't expect after a few rings is for someone to answer on the other side.
Is this just an accidental coincidence? Or is this the person she's been waiting for?
With this new person in her life, and the news of her best friend's engagement, she's got a lot ahead of her, while also managing her daughter, making sure she grows into the same strong woman her mother is.
