The Last Time the Rain Fell

4 parts Complete Mature

(sept 2020 - as you can see in the first few chapters, this story is being rewritten. It will be completely redone as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience 💕) I promised myself I would never fall in love again. Especially after what happened last time. He ruined me. He hurt me and destroyed me in ways that I never thought were possible. So, I promised myself that I would never subject myself to the pain that one feels when their love is not properly returned. But it took twelve days...that's how long it took me to fall for him. I couldn't help it, he was my cousins best friend, he already had a girlfriend, and I was probably more trouble than I was worth. But we were still drawn to each other. "Can you promise me something before we go in there?" he asked me. "That depends on what you have in mind." I joked, my fingers nervously toying with the hem of my shirt. "Just promise me that no matter what happens, you'll make it through this." I smiled and looked up from my hands. "Of course I will make it through, whatever it takes."
