Haruka Aoyama, being the only child, is the next head of the Aoyama clan, one of the four noble houses in soul society. In their clan, it is a tradition that the head is always supposed to be a man. So she needs to get married in order to get the clan a next head. Normally, it would have been just an ordinary marriage, like marrying the one you love, but due to the discovery of her immensely powerful abilities, helpful to soul society, as well as destructive, so now, she either marry another from a noble clan, or someone powerful enough to contain her powers.
