When Grendell the great wizard is suddenly abducted by the duke of Woolywooth, Adrion knows it is his fate to save him. And Adrion is only a wizard's apprentice with a meager 10 years of experience and no friends, except for his masters' familiar: a former dark spirit in the shape of a shaky greyhound.

And so, Adrion decides to ask Wendeline Popper for help, the only person who might tell him what happened in the duke's castle and where he vanished to. The problem is that Wendeline is dead, because she was murdered by the duke's son, but that doesn't stop Adrion.

Wendeline is not particularly thrilled about being ressurrected, but she stays around to save the Secret of the Universe. Together with the aspiring pirate-captain Stevie, his masters' familiar and a dead girl, Adrion must go on a quest to save Grendell the Wizard and The Secret of the Universe from the duke of Woolywooth. Perhaps he will discover his fate was always meant to be much, much more...

Trigger warning: this story will describe death and dead bodies and will contain graphic descriptions of violence. It will not contain any graphic sexual activities.
