Gray is Juno's boyfriend but their situation isn't as lovey dovey as most young people their relationships. Gray is an addict. He's addicted to alcohol and drugs and shows up to Juno's house high most days. They haven't had a normal date or normal conversation in a really long time. Juno does not understand why he's sudden fell into this addiction. Gray however is struggling. He wants to stop so badly but his mind is so full of everything that alcohol and drugs are his only escape. Juno loves him so much but she's lossing herself by staying with him.
