As a result, Caden grew up with severe trust issues, struggling to form connections with others. He became convinced that love was a myth, a concept that only served to mask the underlying cruelty and indifference of the world.

That is, until he met Katherine Harper.

Caden's life took a dramatic turn when he moved to the campus in North Carolina and was assigned a new roommate. Katherine Harper was a kind and gentle soul, with a warm smile and an infectious laugh. At first, Caden was wary of her, unsure of how to react to her openness and affection. But as they spent more time together, Katherine's kindness and compassion began to chip away at the walls Caden had built around himself.

As they shared stories and experiences, Katherine helped Caden to confront the painful memories of his past and slowly began to rebuild his sense of self-worth.
