It's August 1st 2056, 16 years since The Hit.
16 years since the actual moon crashed into the Earth and changed life as we knew it. 16 years since the world population went from 8.5 billion to 8.5 million in seconds.
It's also been 16 hours since we decided to follow the advice of a talking phone to try and fix the world, and 16 minutes since we drove out of a camp we've lived for the past 6 years of our lives.
In case you haven't guessed, we're teenagers, and we have no idea what we're doing.

I never believed it would end like this. I was just watching Netflix when the power went out, then before I knew it everyone was screaming, then the school began to shake and fell to the ground. Only three kids in my entire school were spared, four if you count me. I found a group of people heading to the east coast for a boat trip to a supposed safe haven in India. They died of disease days later. I found their bodies by the river. But I guess this is my life now, surviving with a scared boy, a pair of twins and trying to make it to the next day.
