So this novel is all about the period where people of India and lands were separated. When people were going through emotional turmoil of celebrating the independence or mourning the partition. Two people with extremely different backgrounds met and loved and separated.
One kept waiting for the other while the other person was fighting his own demons and going through wars. We cannot actually convey who sacrificed the most but each one was in love. One was excited for one appearance of the other and the other did not her existence.
"Aazadi ki kabhi shaam na hone denge,
Shahido ki kurbaani badnaam na hone denge,
Bachi hai jo ek boond lahu ki tab tak,
BHARAT ka aanchal nilam na hone denge,"
And this was her toughest reality:
"Tum jao watanparasti nibhaane,
Hume gham nahi tumhare itminaan ka,
Par waqt mile ek pal yaad kar lena,
Tumhe andaaza nahi hamare Intezaar-E-Imitihaan ka"
