A Game of Cards

Hearts and Spades had been entangled in a blood feud ever since Spadian General Constantine Ying ordered war onto Hearts, and ruthless General Onyx Ying was ordered to kill the father of now-prince Mace Hayes Bloodbreak out of cold blood during the endless fighting eight years ago. But two years after the fighting ended, ever since Rodina Paget, a girl with extraordinary psychic abilities that she has yet to learn to control, predicted the rising of an ancient, vicious being out for blood and revenge, the Impersonated forces must work together to defeat a common enemy - and secure the safety of their own respective nations. The rising Trickster Jester, a being with powers beyond the comprehendible constructs of their world, can only be defeated by the eight Impersonations, just like the Impersonations had defeated the Jester five-hundred years ago. Onyx, Mace, Cozbi, Dane, Rodina, Tamar, Cedric, and Briana are expected to ally together - despite the conflicting views between some amongst them - to force the Jester back into the place where it had been imprisoned for the last five centuries. However, they are all thrown into a tangle of chaos, revenge, and betrayal as they slowly realize that their goals may not all align after all...and that General Onyx has not yet let go of her heartless tendencies.
