The Paris Opera House, with its opulent chandeliers and grand performances, was the pride of the city. To the common folk, it was a place where music and dance intertwined, creating moments of beauty and grace. But beneath this facade of elegance lay a labyrinthine network of tunnels and chambers, where a different kind of performance played out.

Tonight, the opera house was alive with the strains of a grand symphony. Above, the audience was enraptured by the performance, oblivious to the unseen battles fought below. In the catacombs, the Shadow Legion trained relentlessly, honing their skills in combat and sorcery. For centuries, they had stood as the hidden guardians of the city, their existence known only to a select few.

Unbeknownst to both the audience and the Shadow Legion, a new player was about to enter the stage. Julien Delacroix, a talented yet overlooked violinist, was about to stumble upon a world he never knew existed. His discovery would set in motion a series of events that would change the fate of the opera house, and perhaps, all of France.

As the final notes of the symphony echoed through the grand hall above, a new symphony began to play below - one of shadows and secrets, of battles and magic. The stage was set. The players were ready. And the aria of shadows was about to begin.

Sneak peak: "Ssh... They're going to hear you! Be quiet and act like you're sleeping!" he whispered loudly. Celine shut her mouth and moved as far away from him as she possibly could without falling out of the bed. "At the first opportunity he could slit my guts open to get that gem," she thought nervously. She was still holding the dagger so she moved the hand that was holding it to where he could see it. "I'm still armed so don't try anything foolish," she warned him. He looked shocked and a little taken aback. "Like I'm really going to do anything improper with all these soldiers crawling around," he said in irritation. They both fell silent. Then he hastily got up from the bed. "Anyway, you're not my type," he replied angrily. He walked over to the chair and grabbed his cloak and spread it out on the floor in front of the fire to make a pallet. Then he laid down and turned his back on her. Celine ignored him and listened to see if she could hear what was going on below. She could hear the soldiers speaking downstairs in the tavern but couldn't make out what they were saying. It sounded like they were already setting up their headquarters. "Just my luck," she thought. "I don't know how I'm going to get out of this one! The enemy is all around me!" Then she glanced over at Brandon who was still lying by the fire. "Even in this very room!"

They invited me to their masquerade. Three cursed brothers- One a warrior. One an assassin. One a prince. I'm just an ordinary, nerdy, twenty-three-year-old girl. (I mean, my hobbies include writing fanfiction and caring for my collection of succulents.) I don't know anything about magic. And I have no idea why these brothers want me.
