Romance
Nathan and Ruben have been friends since they were kids, practically since birth. You might say Ruben only hung out with Nathan to get more popular, but that would be a lie. Nothing could change a thing about how they treated each other; they'd been through thick and thin together and would continue to for the rest of their lives, or so they hoped. It was almost their last year in high school, with only the summer left before they started the new school year, and they were determined not to grow apart, as most people said they would. Between spending time listening to music for hours, painting while laughing so hard their stomachs hurt, and spending the entire summer together, it was getting harder and harder for Nate not to confess his feelings for Ruben. Little did he know that Ruben felt the exact same way, but as most stories go, it's only a matter of time before one of them caves into the temptation of the other's lips...

Nathan is a Navy veteran currently attending school in Seattle for Computer Science. He spends most of his days alone while the rest of his old friends and family are in Virginia. A bit of a loner who only trusts himself in any situation, he deals with the mental aftermath of military service while struggling to form genuine connections. But what happens when old wounds refuse to heal, and you have no other option but to face your past life? Max is an Ohio-born musician who moved to Seattle with his Pops about a month ago. He used to go to school for music but dropped out to help his dad run the "Pop & Son's Subs" shop, their family-owned business. Outgoing and adventurous, he doesn't plan on running the business for long, as he still wants to pursue his artistic dreams. Regardless, Pops is the only family he has, as they share everything (except the fact that he is gay). Two people of entirely different backgrounds and personalities run into each other to fit each other's missing pieces and get through this thing called "life."
