When they sat me up on the couch my ears were muffled as if I had cotton balls in my ears. I tried saying something, but no words came out. No breath came from my mouth, except for some drool. They laid me down and put a nice soft blanket on me. They walked away for a second before coming back with a glass of water. They tried helping me drink from the glass, but I just laid there. I could hear my breathing so clearly, it blocked everything else out. I could also hear my heart beating, and every time it felt like thumping in my ear.

The Test

They dragged me out to the police car. I feel weak. I had dried blood all over me and I could barely move my fingers. The two officers laid me against the car as they opened the door. They harshly flipped me over. "Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law." One of them says. Mostly everything that I heard was starting to fade and it felt like my ears were popping. "I didn't..d-do anything wro-.." I tried to say but my voice was too weak to continue the sentence. "You have the right to consult an attorney before speaking to the police and to have an attorney present during questioning now or in the future. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you before any questioning if you wish." Was the last thing I heard before I realized that I couldn't breathe.
