Aeratel the young elf has lived his entire life under the green canopy of Azervaria, and has been training to be a Chief Forest Ranger like his father. The forest has been the only home he's ever known, where he's sheltered from the dangers of the Otherlands. 
But when his secret obsession with the Otherlands comes to light, Aeratel is confronted by a rogue monster slayer, who urges him to leave Avervaria and join her on a quest to unite the elf kingdom with the Otherlands. By doing so, they will correct a destructive force of unbalanced magic that has been plaguing the kingdoms since their hatred of one another began. 
Along the way Aeratel will face challenges greater than any he's seen before, and discover his true passion.
