Rose is sick, has always been sick, and oddly accepting of an inevitable death. After being admitted into hospital near to the due date, she asks her older brother James, a world renowned author, for a final bedtime story. The subject? Pirates.
She may be accommodating to the idea of eternal slumber but her brother is in no way of a similar mentality.
After a close call in the hospital, he steps out and wishes upon the first star he sees, as a desperate joke.
However...
It seems the world is full of magic.
What happens when that wish comes true?
