'Butterflies' is a collection of short twisted stories with a range of different themes, inspired by Mariana Enriquez (especially her book: 'The Dangers of Smoking in Bed' of which I suggest you check out) Themes of these stories range from cannibalism to murder. This story is not for the faint of heart and may make some viewers uncomfortable. Warnings for what this book contains will be in the first chapter (this will be updated as more stories are added to fit). For your own sake, please be careful on reading the book if any of themes mentioned in the first chapter would make you uncomfortable (I will try and add some warning at the beginning of the stories themselves without revealing the entire plot). These stories aren't meant to harm anyone. They were created either to explore concepts, like child innocence; express a message or moral of the story, or play with literary techniques. These were inspired mostly by the writing of the previously mentioned book alongside with the current state of the world and other external factors that may be referenced at the end of the story. Started: 02/06/24 (The cover was created by me however the butterfly itself and the background was not. I just put them together and edited them.)

She whispered, lips parted, eyes locked with his. She felt dirty for letting him be so close to her and touch her in a way that seemed so foreign and inappropriate- Yet exhilarating... "Maybe scared isn't the right word." His deep baritone voice rumbled, his fingers setting her skin on fire as he reached the opening of her top, the only thing dividing them, "Maybe, confused? Intimidated? But you're not scared of me, right, pet?" "I- I don't know." She answered, her heart pounding against her ribcage, making her shake nervously. "You're scared of this-" his hand lifted back up to circle around her throat and he applied slight pressure, but nowhere near enough to hinder her ability to breathe, "or this." He bent down so she could feel his hot breath skim across her cheek making her face flush. His rough lips, ran across the base of her jaw until he reached her ear, "But you're not scared of me." ~•~•~ 19-year-old Vera Reed is out on her own for the first time, leaving small town Tabor, Iowa for Lincoln, Nebraska to attend college at UNL in her old red Subaru.
