The four friends, four roommates, four men... Everyone knew them, I mean - they were THE Marauders. Even years after their last year, people wanted to just know more about them. They wanted to experience their pranks, and hear about them. And some of them did know them. Some were even in the same year as them.

But not everyone truly knew them. They didn't know Remus, because he never trusted strangers enough to let them in. They didn't know James, because he was hiding his true self. They didn't know Sirius, because he rarely talked about himself. And they didn't know Peter, because no one did care about him. Everyone was always forgetting about Peter Pettigrew.
