It's an aftermath after season five (last episode), where Fukuchi is defeated but a new challenge comes up. Akutagawa will be alive again but struggles with his thoughts about Dazai, Chuuya misses his old partner and Dazai has a self reflection on what he did to those two. They are brought together again when the Port Mafia and the ADA become allies to destroy another organization that is threatening the whole city of Yokohama.

Nakahara Chuuya was rendered blind and was no longer a part of the Port Mafia Organization. Aside from him now being visually impaired, the former executive was taken by the enemy organization. After Dostoyevesky's death having Dazai nearly witnessing the death of all of his friends, he finally has an actual change in heart. Despite that, he's plagued with horrid nightmares of everyone dying and all because of him. As always he can't seem to get away from Chuuya either with him being the focal point of every nightmare and it did have an impact on him. Dazai realises he in fact holds strong feelings for the short ginger man. Naturally, of course when one side of double black changes so does the other. All this while trying to deal with 7 missing people and 6 missing families is a lot to juggle.
