Mason Jones, a 16 year old student from Australia travels to the land of the rising sun to study for 6 months. With little prior knowledge of the culture shock it may carry, is assigned a student in his host school to guide him through the ins and outs of Japanese life.

Aiko Yoshida (吉田愛子), 17 year old student in Yokohama (横浜), Japan, a firm believer that knowledge obtained from books is the only valuable information vital to life. Unfortunately, snatched from her personal bubble, Aiko is assigned a foreign exchange student to help throughout the duration of their trip.

While it may be Aiko's duty to teach Mason a whole new world he's never seen before, little does she know, that along the way, Mason might also do just that and change her heart forever.

"Another day of rejection why did this have to happen to me?.... Everyone rejected me; I used to be part of a teen girl group until I graduated. My voice couldn't get any higher than an alto; so I went solo for the rest of my life." Tanako Meiko is a former Japanese popstar. She was once part of a small girl group but she quits due to the nature of her deep voice. As a result, she got rejected and became an alcoholic in the end. She used to have a boyfriend but she ended up breaking up with him, when she thought that he loved another girl instead of her. As a result, Meiko moves to America after she had enough of the hate in Japan. To her surprise everyone is complimenting her and she is no longer bitter to the world. She then gets into a relationship with a man who looks almost like her. Will Meiko be able to survive and live the American dream or will she fall short? Many answers lies ahead for her and how will fate treat Meiko after moving to America. Ranked #343 on Chicklit on June 27 Quote art: https://www.pinterest.com/unknowndomainp/broken-songbird-quotes/
