Ready to Take, Ready to Break (Teaser)

In a new life and a new world, Pu Li Ming navigates through it all as best as he can. Stumbling along the way.

But just when he starts to settle, eventually... the past he runs away from catches up to him.

Now he has to face it.

He snapped back into reality when he felt his mother stir beside him.

"Xiao Ming..." She greeted softly in her sleep-addled voice, "My dear heart." Her voice cracked, wavering as tears glazed her eyes.

"Mom..." he called back as his voice croaked.

"I'm sorry for being late." She apologized, gently placing her palm over his hand.

"No, no..." He shook his head, "Don't be."

"I am anyways." She cut in, "But I swear to you..."

She softly cupped his cheek into her hand and looked him in the eyes with fire in her gaze, "We're going far away. We leave him behind. And we're never going back."

And what else could he say?

"Good."

I split this novel into three (sort-of) arcs. May end up being longer, but not quite sure as I haven't actually completely finished writing this yet kekw
