On Earth there are humans and two types of shapeshifters : human-shifters and animal-shifters . Animal-shifters work together to stop human-shifters from causing any trouble , the trouble being them locking any human souls in an inescapable place called Shadowfell .
Seers are humans who have a special ability to see through the shapeshifters' charms . Besides them , no human can see or know about the shapeshifters' existence .
Yohem Arthur Galj comes from a long line of talented animal-shifters . His whole life takes a dangerous turn when he intentionately stumbles upon a boy named Finn Harper who seems to be about the most intriguing person he has ever known.
