Friends to Lovers
College and University
"What?! Why? I mean, what do you mean?" Redverse says "We can't be friends anymore, I can't be your friend," I tell him. "One," he says "One, what?" I ask. "Reason," he replies. "You're acting a little different to be only my friend. You look at me differently like more than friends. And I don't want to be more cause I might lose you. " I want to say that, but I can't. ***************** When a handsome stranger helps Essence calm down before her medical final clinical exam, she can't help but think of those brown eyes from time to time. She wonders if she will ever meet him again. At least, that's what she hopes for. Essence FawnVine has always wished men would look her way throughout her three years of college. But for unknown reasons, they never did, and she had made peace with that fact. On top of that, she is used to having male friends who never wanted to cross the friendly borderline, even when she was ready to cross the friendzone. It's in those moments when she decided never to allow herself to cross the friendzone ever again. But when a 27 years old, famous Anesthesiologist specialist, Redverse Fontaine, comes into the picture, she is tempted to go against her own rule. And it seems Redverse has every intention to make her break her own rule. Will Redverse succeed in that? And will Essence finally give in to the temptation? [Word Count 20,000-30,000]

There's this silence between us that stretches longer than it should, and it wraps around my chest like a weighted blanket. My throat tightens. I stare at him like I'm trying to memorise the face of someone who shouldn't exist. A dream made real. My lips part before I can stop myself. "Were you sent by my dad to take care of me?" The question hangs in the air, trembling like the last leaf in autumn. Aiden's gaze softens. His lips tug into the gentlest smile I've ever seen. It's the kind of smile that could mend broken wings. "No" he whispers. "I volunteered." The words hit harder than I expect. Like a punch wrapped in silk. I gasp, air leaves me in a rush I can't reclaim. But before I can fully process what he's just said, he takes a step closer. His fingers ghost over my cheek, brushing away a tear I didn't realise had fallen. And then-he kisses me painfully slow. His hand cups the back of my neck, anchoring me to a moment I never want to end. And just when I think it's over, he pulls away just enough to look at me. His thumb traces the damp trail of tears down my cheek. He doesn't say anything. He just leans in again, and kisses them away. One by one. My tears. My pain. My silence. All kissed away by a boy who didn't come to save me because someone sent him. He came because he chose to.
