There is a mutual history of betrayal, obsession, and endless conflict between Julie and Rome. To him, Julie is all that he has been conditioned to want and kill, and she is more than a woman to be loved or hated. Remembrance of their previous run-ins has clung to the back of his brain, inspiring a near-fanatical fixation that is far above mere infatuation.
