Music serves as an escape for some people. And this fact is not so far from the truth for Natashia Marie Agoncillio, simply called Rie, a senior high school student forming a band in hopes to participate in the yearly school event of Battle of the Bands. Her eagerness to perform on stage with her bandmates serves as her motivation to get better. However, escapes are only temporary, and reality eventually shows up to haunt them, once again. And for Rie, the cause of her suffering, and the only thing that keeps her sane are two sides of the same coin. She shares the weight of this burden with Sheen Fernandez, a student that rarely comes to school and an outstanding pianist and keyboardist that Rie wanted for her band. She, a person who can hide sadness through her happy smiles. He, a person who can see sadness behind a happy smile. Witness for yourself, how they hide their sadness in music. The thing about Kashina Eve Natividad is you'll never see her struggling. People though, don't realize that just because she appears strong, quiet, and calm doesn't mean she doesn't have much to say. She'll never be your favorite sunshines or sunrises. Your joys and laughter. Your grass that is greener. The music that makes you dance. Your freshly crisp bedsheets. The excitement you feel when your favorite food is ready to be served. But she will be your thunderstorms and lightnings. Your sweat and loneliness. Your clouds that are too gray. The silence that drifts you to sleep. Your iron and the curls you tried to straighten. The drop in your stomach. Her silence are too loud from someone who sees the best in her. She's the girl sitting in a chair straightly with a neutral expression and is actually screaming in her head. Maddox Rae Peñaloza tried so hard not to approach her and say, "𝘐 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶." And she will be seen like never before.
