So, here's my spin on the lost colony of Roanoke who disappeared without a trace, except for the word "croatoan" left carved into a tree.
Hi!! This is a short story that I had to make for my mythology class! I had to take a nearby-ish landmark, place, person, etc. and turn it into an urban legend.

Be Careful, Child (A Two-Part Short Story)
"Long ago in Silva Hills, a sudden noise of loud music and laughter echoed throughout the dark parts of the forest one night. The citizens who lived nearby were shaken awake by the sounds and were left sleepless. It was said that five people volunteered to investigate the source of the racket. The sounds stopped an hour later but....the group were never seen again. Some believed that whatever was out there, got to the unfortunate people while some think the group is stuck in some place and they can't get out. Either way, no one really knows for sure what happened to them." This story soon became a rumor the following years to come. Older people would use this tale to scare off children wandering in the woods at night. Pranksters would sometimes report that they've heard the same strange sound described in the story; and this is why everyone starts to debate whether this narrative is fictional or real. A newcomer will soon uncover whether this tale told by the townsfolk is true or not as an unintentional instinct leads her to where it is. But will the truth ever be revealed? The Grey's Curse
What would you do if there was a Monster that one day popped up in your life? uninvited and seemed to know exactly where you were at all times? What if it almost ended your life? Would you tell someone and risk being told that you're crazy? Maria asks herself the same questions and she can't help but to wonder, why does it hunt her so? Can she figure out a way to make it disappear? And most importantly Will she survive? _____________________________________________ In this gruesome horror story the events take place in modern day West Virginia which is where you will meet Maria Nichole Grey: a young and lonely fifteen year old girl that is still grieving the death of her father who died in a car accident seven years ago, leaving her with her aloof mother who was almost never home to witness the strange and dangerous happenings that keep Maria in constant danger. Maria wasn't sure why or how the entity haunted her; she never played with a ouija bound and she never chanted Bloody Mary in her bathroom but on this particular day, when she was home alone, a huge terrifying Monster pounced on her from her closet and attacked her in her own room, the Monster itself was a huge, horrifying, sinister entity with startling glowing yellow eyes that seemed to stare into her soul. The Monster seems to only be interested in Maria and targets her specifically, She has no clue as to why it's haunting her, no, hunting her, but she's determined to find out and put a stop to it before it can send the grim reaper her way. The Gory Details (Gross)
Between 2004 and 2008 I wrote a series of "Tips for Writers" for Nocturnal Ooze magazine vaguely about what would happen in real life if you did the things they do in movies but mostly about the gross out. I've always loved them and so have taken them out of mothballs for a new audience here on wattpad. They're all here except for #13 which seems to have vanished. I've also left them mostly intact except for a few very dated references that have been updated. Well, one, she wasn't a human being and two, she is in a group called Hunters. She had been told to hate them, but after a trip that had changed her life, she learned not to hate them. But, there is still the doubt that the Supernaturals are bad creatures, and they just wanted to kill her or her younger sister. Something is after her, something that will change her life forever. 'Cause not only she, the reincarnation of something is alive, but the creature that had killed the first one was reincarnated also.
