Imagine a steampunk world in the Victorian era in modern ages. That's where Syl is. Syl, eighteen, has spent her entire life in the Gear Hall as an Engineer, a top ranking job in the world of Varse, or for as long as she can remember. Her last memory was her when she was four years old, being taken by her guardian Marv to the Hall. Beyond that, she has no recollection of anything, her parents, friends, nothing. She only has a small locket of two children to remind her of her past. 

One day, after fourteen years, the missing Princess of Thorns is found in the midst of a brutal war between Thorns and Pyro and a spark of hope is to be regained. Syl is given the honor of creating the wedding between Princess Sylvia and Prince Tom of Illicia, the bond that will strengthen the Army and push Thorn into victory. I have restarted this book. I wanted to make it easier to read and more enjoyable. I hope to make shorter chapters and update frequently. :) In the beginning Sylar has no name. No one cares. She's just another kid to fall into a system because she was an unwanted mess. A child that doesn't talk? Yea, no one care about that either. A shady group home filled with bullies and secrets? Yea, you guessed NO ONE CARES! To find friends in a place like this is unlikely. This place is built to feed off the fears of kids and their lack of parental role models. No one holds on to dreams for long in a place like this. You get placed here and you are as good as forgotten. Except when a couple shows up looking as out of place as an astronaut in a gold mine or a miner in space whichever one you prefer. This couple comes and shakes things up. Good or Bad has yet to be decided...only someone's bound to get hurt, someone's bound to be broken. The only question is will the wounds heal or fester and kill?
