In a world where the medieval era has gracefully yielded to the sprawling urban jungles of the modern age, the legends of yore have all but faded into myth. Towering buildings stretch towards the heavens, and bustling cities teem with life, their inhabitants oblivious to the ancient tales whispered in the countryside. Among these stories, the legend of the Wolf Walkers persists, told by farmers to curious travellers, but believed by few. These mysterious beings, it is said, walk among us by day as ordinary humans, only to transform into wolves by night, their wild spirits unleashed as their human forms lie soundly asleep. Kiyoko, a smart and inquisitive teenage boy, stumbles upon a secret that will change his life forever. One fateful night, driven by an unexplainable urge, Kiyoko sneaks out of his urban home and ventures into the nearby forest. There, under the haunting light of the moon, he encounters a lone wolf. Startled and in defence, the wolf bites him before disappearing into the depths of the forest. Kiyoko returns to the city, shaken and bewildered. However, his confusion turns to sheer disbelief when, just nights later, he finds himself looking down at his own sleeping body. His spirit, now untethered from his physical form, begins to shift and change, embodying the wolf that lies dormant within his soul. Kiyoko's life spirals into an extraordinary adventure as he grapples with his newfound identity as a Wolf Walker, navigating the duality of his existence.

"You know it won't go to the West," he said dropping his voice. "Maybe you're wrong. Who knows," she shrugged. Her shoulders had slumped but she had managed to not let any tears spill. "Baum knew what he was doing when he made the West wicked, Mary," he hissed. "The East was wicked in that book too, dumbass," Mary retorted. Jacob's hands went into fists to keep from pushing at his hair. The tree behind them began to shake slightly. The ground gave a tiny rumble. *************************************************** Mary's father recently passed. But she is finding out it might not have been from natural causes... Family adversaries threaten everything while influential other worldly authorities pull the strings. Mary will have to work with an unlikely ally from her childhood to navigate their new found powers and reclaim balance. Meanwhile... one dark soul is climbing the ladder of chaos. The banging starts again but this time a lot louder. I can hear the girls screaming up stairs. I pick up my phone and dial 911. "Hello this is 911 what's your emergency?" "There are a bunch of wolves outside my house. I think they have rabies or something I'm not sure." The banging gets louder and I can feel my face getting wet from the tears. "Mamm did you say wolves are there?" "Yes Yes there are wolves about 10 of them out here in my front yard. I need help!" I hang up the phone and sit on the end of the stair case. I close my eyes and start praying. Something I haven't done in a while. "I have faith, there is a god. I have faith, there is a god, I have faith, there is a god." I repeat over and over. The glass breaks and I start screaming. I stand up and try to scramble up the stairs. The door comes falling down and there are about 10 wolves standing in front of my door. A woman emerges and walks toward me. She snaps her fingers and the pretty brown wolf is in front of me. Right there by my face. "Ridanna you know what to do." Her teeth is wrapped around my neck and she sinks them in. I try to scream but it's hard to. At first it hurts but now the pain no longer exists. I feel like there is no such thing as pain and I feel light as if I can float off the Earth. Fine as hell white boy with a pro-black activist fall for each other. Cherise Miss Activist doesn't want to date Zaire the fine as hell white boy not for his race but for his secrets. What if he had a past he didn't tell you about and the only way you found out is because the past came to kill you? And I'm not talking werewolves and vampires. Journey For Kuuno
A short story prompt for a writing club I'm in I had a month to write it and a 12.5k word limit! It deserves to be longer so I probably should have done something that works well with the limit, but I had a really fun time writing out a concept start for this larger story I'm working on :) Again, this is a concept story! it has it's flaws, I look forward to rewriting it sometime in the future :) The story will explain things somewhat as you read through, but if you would like, here is a setting synopsis: At the end of the 21st century humanity fell to a incurable blight, the Blood Curse, and civilization as it was known collapsed with it. It was only through the biological properties of vampires, whom have existed as long as humans, that humanity could safely stave off the curse. One thousand years later, humanity and vampires have grown together through this mutual need, human's needing their curses to be sated, Vampires needing human blood for sustenance. A once tumultuous relationship of predator and prey now was one of equal standing and reverence. Not all human's have taken kindly to this new order of things however, and societies do exist that reject vampires and dangerously brave the curse on their own. In recent years these human's have become more brave and more daring, and in an ambush on Wyatt's village, Karva the town vampire has been injured and cannot satiate the curse for a time, right when a young child, Kuuno, is in dire need of it. Wyatt, a fledgling vampire yet to conquer their thirst for blood, Yeshen a doctor's apprentice, and Kuuno, the young child, venture out into the woods set for the nearest village and it's vampire to save the young boy. In this thick forest and uncertain times, what will they discover, and will they make it to their destination safely?Hoàn thành
