After long distance becomes too much for both of them, they decide to go their separate ways. Logan moves on with his career while Rory is still hung up by the fact that she let the love of her life walk away. She still remembers the day perfectly while she remembers the way he walked away, she remembers the blue box he held in his hand as she rejected him, only she did not want to and now she regrets it.
Years later, she wonders what her life could be like. She pictured herself in his penthouse with children that belong to Logan and writing for the New York Times. Except that's not her life because she turned down the engagement. She moved out of the apartment she had with Logan and is now writing for the times, just not with the family she imagined. Everything felt different, off, not what she wanted.
Rory moved into her new loft in the fall of 2007, shortly after she graduated from Yale. She found a New york loft where she hoped to get a job at The New York Times. It was her dream to be a journalist in New York and that was now in the process of happening. But her heart still ached. It ached because she turned down the proposal. It ached because she could no longer call the boy who she thought of when she was writing.
Although she was happy with her loft and how spacious it was, it was too quiet. She looked around the loft that was still filled with boxes, making it seem small. She had lived in her loft for almost nine months and still wasn't unpacked. She kept telling herself she was going to go through it but there were too many memories. Finally, she found the courage to finish unpacking and make the loft feel like home.
As she was unpacking, there it was, the ring.
This story picks up where "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" leaves off-- Lorelai and Luke are married and Rory announces she is pregnant.
How does the Danes' relationship change now they've said "I do"? How does Rory deal with the pregnancy...and the baby's father?
Follow along with my story to learn my take on how these beloved characters-- and others-- continue with their lives.
