Feed formulation and production technology is gaining in importance due to the number of future global opportunities, challenges, and threats. The global demand for animal sourced food is expected to increase by 70% in 2050 due to growth of the world population, increased income, and urbanization (Alexandratos and Bruinsma, 2012; Boland et al., 2013).
