The picture of Dorian Gray

Oscar Wilde and his work is something you simply have to experience for yourself. One of his works is the 'The Picture of Dorian Gray'. It is about the innocent young man called Dorian, who after meeting Lord Henry Wotton begins to desire eternal youth and beauty. Even before the meeting, Dorian is naturally charming, but his soul unknowingly begins to change under Henry's influence. We can see how his soul gradually withers in his portrait. The portrait was painted by the painter Basil Hallward, Dorian's long time close friend who also secretly loved him from the beginning. The book ends tragically.
