When an extraterrestrial named Nitros Oxide, self-proclaimed fastest racer in the galaxy, challenges planet Earth, Crash Bandicoot and his closest friends, and even his foes, must race in order to save their beloved home. Tensions are high and not everyone is willing to assist, but what no one is yet aware of is that there is a true mastermind working behind the scenes.
(Note: I decided to change things up a bit, as this fan fiction is based AFTER The Wrath of Cortex and Crash Tag Team Racing.
Side Note: This is loosely based on a fan fiction I had written years ago with the same title. It was on DeviantArt, but since I quit using it, I have decided to put the fan fiction on here, albeit with numerous changes. I think I deleted my DeviantArt account anyway, being as I couldn't find the original.)

Crash and Spyro, A Friendship Across Lifetimes
Here we have two gaming characters that I personally love: Crash and Spyro. I've placed these two in the same world, yet separated them by time. I take some drastic liberties with the established canon of these two franchises, the more drastic changes are intentional to either enhance the plot of the story or to strengthen the character of the characters (pun intended). Crash is a creation of Dr. Cortex, but defects due to his love of the other test subject, Tawna. He meets one of the local tribeswomen, a young teenager named Coco. After four years (details omitted), Crash is accidentally stranded one hundred thousand years in the past and is befriended by a young Dragon named Spyro. Spyro is predestined for greatness, but the power of the Sorceress, the betrayal of Red the Elder Dragon from the Council of Elders, and the war monger Gnasty Gnork threaten to kill all the Dragons of the Dragon Realms. By accident or by fate, a friendship emerges from this unlikely duo, and although Spyro may or may not have needed Crash's help, his presence certainly changed his life.Complete

"Why do you care?" he asks. But it's not soft. It's sharp, defensive, like he's already bracing for the answer. I want to tell him the truth. Because you saved me. And that pisses him off more. He takes a step back like he's going to leave, then pauses. His eyes flick to my jacket. In one quick motion, he reaches in and pulls out the burner phone. "I think this belongs to me," he says, tone sharp but quiet. No accusation. Just fact. I don't respond. Just watch as he slips it into his pocket, like closing a door I wasn't supposed to open. He looks at me for one long second, jaw clenched. "Go home," he says again, this time like a warning. And this time, I believe him. He crushes the cigarette under his boot, turns his back, and walks down the alley, leaving me standing in the dark. - Lily didn't ask to be assigned to him. He doesn't need to complain about life but sadly his childhood was so terrifying it scarred him forever, he'll always want to know what love feels like but he shelters himself because it's for the best. He tries to better himself starting in September, so he's getting ready for back to school night at Rockport Elementary where he teaches and he has no idea that this pacific night his entire life is about to be flipped upside down.
