Joas Jourdain was 15 years old and had already lived a hardship-filled life. His mother, Josephine Joestar, had died when he was just 8 years old, succumbing to a mysterious disease that had left him and his sister, Maria, devastated. His father, Jean-Louis Jourdain, had dealt with his grief by turning to alcohol and had become abusive towards Joas, ultimately driving him out of the house at the age of 15. These experiences had left Joas with a deep sense of loneliness, and he found himself struggling on a day-to-day basis to cope with the challenges he faced.
