Melody Nightingale, a young twenty-two-year-old vigilante, struggles with the hardships of living a double life as a citizen of Gotham city and a college student at the local university. Nine months since the Joker's death, and crime seems to be down. Maybe for once in this godforsaken city she can catch a break. No mask, no schoolwork, nothing.  But when Scarecrow decides to hatch a plan on Halloween with the help of an illegal militia commander named The Arkham Knight, her free night is cut short.

Bruce Wayne doesn't hesitate to take them in, but Ria's mistrust of them leads to tension in the house. Her powers are dangerous, volatile and no matter how hard Tim tries, he can't get her to open up to him. The twins are a team, and always will be, with Jason being able to count on one hand the number of words Dick has spoken in his entire life, (him being selectively mute, and all) Dick needs Jason, and Jason needs Dick to keep him out of too much trouble and on the semi-right path.
