Ambrose is a witch, a very low powered one who's been held back a year in school, but a witch nonetheless. The test for graduating from the third year to the fourth-year level of training is to summon a familiar. During the rite, something goes wrong. At least, Ambrose is pretty sure something goes wrong, because he summons a demon rather than some inconsequential animal. Now he and Val, the demon, are stuck together until they can figure out how to break the bond of a familiar and its witch. As they navigate the difficulties of coming from two different worlds and being thrown together unwillingly, Ambrose begins to wonder if the bond is such a bad thing. ***Updates Fridays
