Set in the eighties in the beautiful, picturesque hill country of Sri-Lanka, the fates of two individuals, the gentle and enchanting Sanda Peiris and tall and strikingly handsome Kelum Attanayake are entwined in more ways than one.

Their marriage celebrated amidst cascading blessings and observed at auspicious hours marks the beginning of their matrimony. Sanda and Kelum start their new lives together.

The Poruwa Ceremony sees them standing together on the ornate wooden platform adorned with intricate designs and draped in fragrant jasmine garlands. The Veda-Mahaththaya's chants resonate through the air, guiding them through ancient rites that bind their souls in matrimony.

Only to realise that it kinda-wasn't-meant-to-be.

Separated soon after, Sanda and Kelum fight for their own love stories - to create something out of nothing.
