After escaping the pain and slavery of her step-father when she was twelve, Lilinoe jumped from village to village, never staying in one spot for too long. The looming feeling that someone was watching her, maybe even following her, sent a wave of erratic shivers down her spine.

On her sixteenth birthday, whilst celebrating alone at Chen's Noodle restaurant, she runs into some trouble. Thugs with purple snake tattoos littering their bodies. That faithful day was when she discovered something that, at first, doesn't seem so bad. But this would turn out to be something far more sinister.

With the wrath of her step-father closer than ever before, and the threat of all of Ninjago being at stake, can Lilinoe stop Chen four years after the torture? How will she deal with powerful individuals who could knock her out easily. Unusual friendships, and perhaps a new flame? All while discovering that deep inside of her, there's something that's been hidden for far too long now.
